V-Day: Yay or Nay?

Well, with Valentine's day having passed just a couple of days ago your memories of it should be quite clear. Tell me your thoughts, dear writers, on this holiday. Is it a beautiful tribute to those we cherish or is it merely a marketing ploy via Hallmark and FTD? Whatever your opinions, fill me in.
